Driftwood Heart

This piece of wood got my attention right away. With the help of a chainsaw and a friend I carried this piece a few hundred yards back to the car. The process of hollowing out took many days and was completed with a good scorching using a torch. Most of the “veins” are hollow and connect to the main chamber. Inside the heart is a low wattage LED Edison style bulb, just enough to invite you to look inside and see the majority of the work that went into the piece. Mounted on an oak base that has been dyed black

Driftwood carved and burned, mounted on dyed oak base with LED light inside.

Approximately 22” tall and 21” at its widest
